Renee Widdison

My name is Renee and I am a Urology Nurse Practitioner. I joined the Urology team in 2019 completing my Bachelor of Nursing in 2006 and my Masters of Nursing in 2020.

I was fortunate to have participated in the JBT program in 2010 gaining a post graduate certificate in Continence Management to which Ann and Merrilyn mentored me.

Prior to this I worked in the acute care medical/surgical setting within the private health care sector and cared for many urology patients during this time. I have also worked in rehabilitation, HDU, recovery, pre-admission clinic, palliative care, paediatrics and the advanced life support team within the private health care sector.

The Urology Centre is a wonderful team to be part of. There are lots of laughs amongst ourselves and the patients. We aim to make each patient visit a comfortable one given the nature of the treatment.

My special interests are over-active bladder syndrome, pelvic floor dysfunction, recurrent urinary tract infection, preoperative/post operative education and prostate and bladder cancer. I enjoy assisting with minor procedures including dilations, insertion of gold seeds and urodynamic studies.

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends.
